Large Dallas Area Health System Virtually Trains 1000+ Staff in Just Four Months

ATLANTA and DALLAS — JANUARY 11, 2021 — Orasi, a DevSecOps innovator accelerating software application delivery and adoption through automation, announces today its partnership with Parkland Health & Hospital System to provide effective virtual training for thousands of hospital employees during COVID-19.

Medical staff are required to be properly trained in the use of electronic healthcare records, imaging devices, mobile health apps and more. If these systems are used incorrectly, the result can be poor patient care and/or inappropriate billing, leading to costly legal issues for an organization.

“We have always conducted these trainings in person in both small and large classrooms, allowing for hands-on instruction. COVID-19 put an end to that just when we needed to train more than 400 new residents on Epic, an electronic health records system. But we couldn’t pause training,” said Daniel Cluck, Parkland’s Senior Clinical Informatics Learning Specialist.

Orasi’s virtual training platform, OrasiLabs, enables a more realistic environment that encourages engagement, increases knowledge retention, and ultimately enlightens students so they are truly prepared for real-world scenarios, critical in a healthcare setting. Parkland instructors are able to teach large numbers of students at the same time on multiple screens, while still providing personalized “over the shoulder” instruction and screen control when needed. OrasiLabs’ platform allowed for attendance tracking and gave instructors a true window into which students were engaged and attentive and who needed extra help throughout certain lessons.

“We are proud to work with Parkland to help ensure medical and administrative teams can remain up to date on the latest software technologies and patient care solutions during this time of social distancing. Our solution allows for active learning, despite the virtual nature of the training, creating high retention rates, helping to ensure Parkland can offer high quality care at all times,” said David Hand, VP of Orasi.
